Comfy Collars for Cats and Dogs

Comfy CollarsComfy Collars are used as an alternative to the traditional lampshade collar, to reduce the stress suffered by cats and dogs that are recovering from surgery or minor injuries.

Unlike the elizabethan collar (also known as the e-collar, ecollar, buster collar, surgical collar or space collar) the comfy collar does not restrict the field of view, so your dog or cat is less likely to bash into furniture. It is also much easier for them to see and reach their food bowl. If you’ve ever seen a dog or cat trying to eat whilst wearing a lampshade collar you will know just how difficult and stressful that can be!

Each comfy collar has a scratch and bite resistant outer layer and a separate inflatable inner tube, with a velcro fastening strap on the outside edge and fabric hoops to secure against your pet’s collar on the inside edge. The top-up valve can be accessed through the outer layer and pushed in so that it stays flush. There is also a zip on the outer layer for easy removal of the inner tube.

We endeavour to despatch all Comfy Collars as quickly as possible and on weekdays we despatch orders received before 2pm on the same day. Orders received before 8am on Saturday are despatched the same morning. Weekend orders are despatched on Monday. We will send you an email confirmation when the Comfy Collar is on its way to you.

The Comfy Collar is available in five sizes:

You are aiming for a snug fit, similar to a polo neck sweater, with the collar fully inflated and the velcro strap area positioned around the back of the neck. This will provide the maximum benefit for restricting neck movement. A baggy fit is less effective.

We recommend you carefully measure your pet’s neck before ordering to ensure you have selected the right size of Comfy Collar for your pet’s needs. Please note that even if the collar has only been briefly tried on we will still be unable to accept its return for hygiene reasons. For in-between sizes, or sizes smaller than Size 1, you may find using the ProCollar gives a better fit.

When fitting the Comfy Collar all pets should be supervised to ensure they are unable to reach any of the affected areas because with any type of collar (including elizabethan collars) some of the more determined pets may still be able to reach their hind quarters, tails and paws. Using the fabric hoops with your pet’s regular collar to secure the positioning of the Comfy Collar is particularly recommended for breeds with wide necks such as alsatians and rottweilers.

The Comfy Collar is not recommended for breeds with longer bodies and longer necks such as daschunds, whippets, greyhounds or dobermanns. In these circumstances you may find it preferable to use the ProCone or the Anti-Lick Strip.

We welcome comments about using the Comfy Collar. The photos on our comments page help to illustrate how the Comfy Collar is worn. Our most recent comment is shown below.

BorisWe have recently rescued a little French Bulldog called Boris who has had chronic ear infections that have been left untreated. One of the major things is that he was stuck in an itch-scratch cycle which was making the problem worse, also he has had an aural haematoma which needed to be drained. Due to his breed he obviously has major issues with the traditional e-collars as he has a flat face and couldn't reach his water/food bowls. When we had used these it had ended up causing more pain and distress than good.

The vet gave us one of your Comfy Collars and it has worked WONDERS. He absolutely loves it! He uses it as a pillow and can access his food and drink easily. In a matter of a few days his ears have improved dramatically and we haven't worried about leaving him for a short time when he's wearing it. So from myself and my dog Boris a big THANK YOU!
